Located on an attractive and quiet ocean block in Barnegat Light, 5 houses away from the beach. A quick walk over a scenic boardwalk path gets you to the ocean. In a family-friendly location, located mid-block and with no streets to cross. The beach is exceptionally beautiful, never overcrowded and has a fully-manned lifeguard station from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in season.

Within a few blocks of all major Barnegat Light attractions including: brand new 36 hole miniature golf course, Lighthouse State park (lighthouse, park and pier), great restaurants, Viking Village, Deep Sea Fishing, Parasailing, fishing, etc. Children's activities offered at the state park in season include: "Stories by the Sea" and Craft project and others. Barnegat light is also a perfect and safe area for bike riding.

If that isn't enough there are also playgrounds, a skateboarding park, and public tennis courts just a few blocks away. Viking Village on the bay and 19th Street, is a commercial seaport with quaint theme shops, a fresh fish market, and a fleet of charter boats for fishing and sunset cruises. Other conveniences within easy walking distance include a market, and If you have a boat, go ahead and bring it--the public boat ramp is close by on 10th Street.

Arts and crafts, flea markets and antique fairs are frequently held in Barnegat Light during the warm season and on holidays. There are also some wonderful antique and gift shops in town. There are plenty of family activities throughout the island.

The house has separately zoned central air & gas heat, plus its own deck, outdoor shower, gas grill, picnic table, clothes line and parking area.

A conscientious landlord...

Our one week stay was for the purpose of a family reunion. We arrived at the house on 8/13/2019 only to find out that the central AC unit had failed the night before. It was 89 degrees inside both units of the house.

I bought eight fans to exchange the air from outside in so that we could try to bear sleeping at night rather than moving into hotel rooms.

The landlord, Neil Dore, made multiple trips to the house in order to have an AC tech repair the unit. Also, over half the week was in the 90's and very humid, while the AC was underperforming even after repair. Neil bought three portable floor units to suppliment the central AC.

Everything else about the house was pleasant. And Neil gave us some refund money in consideration of five days of fairly hot, humid interior temps.

I credit Neil for attending diligently to an emerging problem and doing all he could do to mitigate it.

I would rent again. Further, Neil plans a major remodel of the house, to be ready for the 2020 rental season. All things considered, I recommend this rental and Neil Dore for a nice, quiet shore vacation.

Thank you for your review, positive comments and (like several other renters) your interest in renting the house again next year. Your review shows your understanding that things can happen despite having the AC unit checked out before the season. That week was a perfect storm of heat, humidity and a failed fan motor. Fortunately, before and after this event we haven't had any other issues with the AC, or any other aspects of the house. Regardless I am working with my HVAC specialist to review and come up with a contingency plan to eliminate any concerns going forward.

My first year as an owner and landlord has been a learning experience and currently, I'm working with my architect and engineer to realize the awesome potential of the house, property and location so that my guests, family and friends have a great experience any time they stay and keep coming back for years to come. Looking forward to having you and your family back next year.
