North Beach Haven, LBI
Beaches, nightlife and good times
Beach Haven, New Jersey. It’s one of the great towns of the New Jersey Shore, bustling with family fun and activity. But don’t let the name fool you. North Beach Haven, adjacent to Beach Haven proper, is actually part of Long Beach Township. The beaches here are some of the finest in the state for swimming and sun worshipping. Kids are entertained for hours, searching for sand crabs or bodysurfing the rolling waves. Surfing, kayaking, and stand up paddling (SUP) are allowed anywhere outside the swimming area flags.
The Hands Store is a tradition in North Beach Haven, a longstanding department store where you can find anything from sundries to tools and housewares.
North Beach Haven is home to the fantastic Italian dining of Calabria Ristorante and the Hudson House, LBI’s hidden “neighborhood-style” bar. Biggie’s Beach Grill serves up casual seafood. Take the kids to Just Bead It to make their own jewelry or link up for some surfing lessons at LBI Surfing. Or you can stroll to Steffano’s for amazing seafood and try their “World Champion Chowder.”
Enjoy the benefits of a quiet LBI vacation but still be right next to the action of the Queen City, the hub of activity on Long Beach Island’s south end with Fantasy Island, Thundering Surf, and favorite restaurants ranging from upscale at The Gables to the straight up fun of the Chicken or the Egg. Shop Schooner’s Wharf or Bay Village; dance late into the night at the Marlin or the Seashell.
