Welcome to Cottage by the Sea! Please note: July and August are rented by the month...no weekly rentals.
The cottage is newly renovated with a coastal theme and is in pristine condition. It features three bedrooms (queen bed and single beds on second floor, full size on first floor) and 2.5 baths along with two outdoor showers. Central A/C keeps the house refreshingly cool all summer long. There is a rear brick patio with a Weber gas grill. The driveway has parking space to comfortably fit three cars.
The house comes equipped with everything you’ll need and many extras. It includes all linens and towels, two beach bikes, sand chairs, four beach badges, and many books/videos/games/puzzles. Mattresses and pillows are comfortable and the spice cabinet is well-stocked. Attentive owner and great neighbors.
Nestled in the quaint fishing village of Barnegat Light at the northern tip of LBI, the house is in a great family-friendly location. Just steps away from one of the best beaches on LBI: small dune,easy access walkway, seasoned lifeguards, beach volleyball net, lots of open space, and never crowded.
There are many nearby activities within walking/biking distance or a short drive. Visit the shops at the historic Viking Village. Climb the 217 steps of Old Barney at the Lighthouse State park. Take an art class at the LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences. Go deep sea fishing, whether you’re a first timer or an experienced fisherman. There are also boat and kayak rentals, nightly sunset cruises, free concerts, bonfires, antique shops, biking, and gardens.
Nearby restaurants include the famed Mustache Bills Diner, Cassidy’s Fish Market, Daymark Bar and Restaurant, 18th Street Café, Inlet Deli, Poppy’s Ice Cream Parlor, How You Brewin Coffee, among others.

Lovely Cottage
Our stay at the Cottage by the Sea was wonderful. We have been coming to LBI for several years and this was by far the easiest most relaxing stay we have had. From the fully stocked house to include linens and towels to the short walk to the beach to the great layout of the home with multiple common areas and 3 bedrooms each with a bath close by. We made some lovely memories in this Cottage and look forward to returning next year.

Classic LBI Cottage
I was fortunate to be able to spend some time this summer in "The Cottage By the Sea" in Barnegat Light. Located on a quiet street close to the beach I found everything I could possibly want or need including bikes, beach chairs, beach towels etc. My favorite thing about this house is that it is a classic LBI cottage with an old LBI feeling, quite charming and the host was easy and pleasant to communicate with.

Great Stay
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a week in June 2024. Various family came and went. Having sheets, towels, chairs as part of the rental made things much easier than they have been for the last 28 years that we have been staying in Barnegat Light. The layout and common space worked out great, but the master bedroom is the crown jewel - spacious and oh-so beachy feeling. Julianne was a very responsive host, seemingly always available and easy to have a good rapport with. Love the location of this place. Close to all the things that make Barnegat Light so great. Thank you!

Charming, comfortable, and ideally situated!
Cottage by the Sea on 21Street in Barnegat Light was everything we hoped it would be. Charming, comfortable, and ideally situated. Just steps away from lush dunes and an expansive beach, a block from the bay, and close enough to the lighthouse, restaurants, and shops. The house itself provided a well stocked kitchen, three ample bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, and plenty of common space to spread out in. It was surrounded by lovely gardens, friendly neighbors and a peaceful vibe. The owner was easy to work with and very responsive. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely return.

Impressive property
I've been coming to the Jersey Shore for many years. I've never stayed in a house so well maintained and with so many extras. Quality bed linens, bath towels and beach towels provided...comfortable beds and efficient central air conditioning made our stay very comfortable. Clear instructions left for renters and a very responsive owner. Quiet street, just steps to beach. I really liked having two outdoor showers.

Cottage by the Sea is authentically a Jersey shore home offering lovely LBI ocean and bay beaches, and a quiet hometown living. Here is a comfortable, cozy home to enjoy the northern end of LBI. The well-appointed cottage is one where you can enjoy family and friends.

Great beach house
Rented Julianne's Cottage by the Sea in Barnegat Light in late June. Had a great experience. Owner was attentive to all of our needs and the house was very clean upon arrival. Great location, just steps from the 21st street beach. Also, close to Viking Village on 20th street. All in all, a great place at a great price.

We spent the summer at the cottage, and it was absolutely amazing. I can’t imagine anyone having anything but an incredible vacation.
