The first floor has a newly updated great room with a new designer kitchen with granite countertop and an unobstructed view of the dining and living room areas. Sliding glass doors from the dining area to the 1st floor rear deck provide easy access to a picnic table and newly constructed patio, a convenient spot for anything from a snack to an outdoor dinner. The first floor also includes two bedrooms, one with queen bed and one with two twin beds, a full ceramic tiled bathroom with a granite vanity top and a tub/shower, and a separate pantry/laundry room with a 2nd refrigerator, each accessible from the hall/ foyer.
The second floor includes a master bedroom, a second bedroom and a full bath, all directly off the foyer at the top of the stairs. The spacious master bedroom has a queen bed, a desk with a an all-in-one printer, and access to the 2nd floor rear 12x20 deck which includes a table and chairs and two chaise lounges for sunning during the day and great star watching at night. The second large bedroom is furnished with two single beds and includes a game/puzzle collection to occupy the kids during cloudy days. The elegantly tiled bathroom features a double Corian sink unit and a glass-enclosed tiled shower with bench seat.
The entire house is cooled by central air conditioning. There are 4 tv’s in the house: one in the great room, one each in the queen bedrooms and one in the first floor twin bedroom. Cable plus access to Netflix and HBO Go. High speed wireless internet is accessible throughout the house and decks. The fully fenced backyard is a great play area for kids of all ages and includes a large Weber propane grill. A boardwalk walking path stretches from the street to the roomy backyard shower, sunlit patio and the first floor rear deck.
Our house is located on Scott Drive in Holgate, the southernmost community on LBI. Scott Drive is a quiet dead end street with only 8 homes. Our house is the 2nd house in from the Boulevard, which in this area of LBI is a two lane beach road, with wide walking and bike lanes on each side. With the lower and generally slower traffic levels near the end of the island, crossing the boulevard to the beach entrance directly across the street is an easy task, day or night.
Holgate is, known for its family atmosphere and residential character. The island is fairly narrow at this end resulting in a less crowded and more serene atmosphere than most of the towns up island. Quiet side streets for biking and walking are plentiful as well as are some interesting local destinations within a 10 minute walk. There is a lookout a ½ mile from our house at the south end of the boulevard which offers a great view of the Atlantic City skyline, 15 miles to the south, visible both day and night. This spot also marks the entrance to the totally undeveloped bird sanctuary that extends 2 miles further south to the physical tip of the island. A bay front park, about a 5 minute walk past a scenic residential marina, features a public tennis court and playground and is a favorite gathering place for a glass of wine at sunset.
Bowker’s Deli located near the lookout offers breakfast items, sandwiches, newspapers, some convenience store items and ice cream. The Boardwalk, about ¾ mile north on the boulevard is a full service ice cream parlor, and also offers breakfast/sandwiches, some convenience store items, as well a bike and beach rental service. The Juice House, located diagonally from The Boardwalk, offers healthy and delicious fruit bowls and juices.
Beach Haven which is 2 miles north offers a full variety of shopping, restaurant and other commercial establishments as well as Fantasy Island amusement park and Thundering Surf Water Park.
We have owned and rented this house for many years and use it as often as we can. We have equipped it with all the accessories you would expect to find in a permanent residence and all are available for your use. The rental includes the use of 4 adult beach badges and 2 senior beach badges, a variety of beach toys, 6 beach chairs, 2 adult bicycles and an extensive selection of books. We offer our house to families only, with a maximum occupancy of 8, including children.
