Great Oceanfront 3 bedrooms, 2 baths on a virtually private guarded beach

Beautiful Oceanfront Duplex with private walkway to beach over dunes with lots of amenities! Central Air, Wireless High Speed Internet; Stainless and Granite Kitchen; Updated Bathrooms with glass tile and quartz counters; Great Decks with lots of deck furniture & Natural Gas Grill (no worrying about running out of propane!) - Great for entertaining! There’s 1 large flat screen TV and 2 other big flat screen TV’s; great outdoor shower with dressing area; off-street parking. Close to Sunset Park for great weekly concerts in season, a fabulous playground and bay access for boating and crabbing. Close to shops and restaurants.

The sliding glass doors (a total of 6 on each floor!) and siding on entire house were replaced a few years ago. The outdoor shower with dressing area (entirely built with plastic wood to keep it clean!!!!!) is also newly replaced!

OUR HOME IS SMOKE-FREE AND PET-FREE; NO LINENS AND TOWELS ARE PROVIDED.

The beach is fabulous and virtually private yet it does have life guards in season! We provide beach badges for 8 people. A deposit will be required and will be returned when beach badges are returned.

Notes:

There are so many activities available on the island. You can choose to make it as busy or as quiet and low-key as you like! The great benefit of our home's location is that it allows you all the privacy you like, but if you want more activity it's easily available. And, there is an Island Shuttle that runs in from approximately Memorial Day to Labor Day. The shuttle runs all day and most of the night. You hop on at the top of our street and it will take you wherever you want to go for a nominal fee! When you're ready to come home, just catch the shuttle and it drops you off at the top of our street.

Additional information about rental rates:

We provide Housekeeping Services at the end of your stay, but we ask that you leave our home in good order: Beds made, trash emptied, dishes in dishwasher and started, and all furniture and items in the location you found it. If you leave our home in bad condition, the security deposit may be used for additional services. (We never had to use it though.)

50 PERCENT AT TIME OF LEASE SIGNING. REMAINING 50 PERCENT 30 DAYS BEFORE OCCUPANCY.

$250 SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE CASHED, AND RETURNED UPON RETURN OF KEYS.

About the Owners, the Boehringer’s:

My husband, Paul, worked in hospital administration and is retired. We are recently empty nesters! My daughter moved to Wisconsin for her first job and my son is currently in college. We love the beach and try to get to the beach as much as we can! I love that LBI is like living back in the 60's. When my kids were growing up they used to get on their bikes in the morning and take off with friends to hit the beach or do other fun shore things. Often, I wouldn't see them until 10 pm that night!

The Boehringer’s purchased their duplex in 1999.

Why we chose Harvey Cedars:

Both my husband and I were always dying for a beach house (oceanfront duplex to be exact!) We purchased our wonderful house in 1999. Being from the Philadelphia Area, we used to go more south to the beach and never really knew much about LBI. When we started looking someone recommended that we check out LBI. We did and we fell in love! After buying the house and experiencing LBI we wouldn't go anywhere else!

We fell in love with this house as soon as we saw it, and very unlike us (my husband will research buying a toaster in detail!) we made an offer on the house the next day and haven't looked back!

We loved the private access to the beach, the beach itself is fabulous and the house has unbelievable decks! Plus, it has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on each floor and great outdoor showers. Basically it was designed great! We did have work to do though. It didn't have air. Central Air was our first major enhancement to the house. We also added gas heat, which allowed us to put in natural gas grills. The next major project was replacing the kitchens (granite and stainless appliances) and updating the bathrooms. Most recently we replaced the siding on the house and replaced all the sliding glass doors (12 in total - 6 on each floor!), while we were at it we also completely redid the outside showers, they're done completely in plastic wood so they are easy to sanitize and clean! Our guests actually love the showers so much that many prefer showering outside rather than inside!

What makes this condo unique:

We are lucky to have a private walkway to the beach, which makes running back and forth, even for little ones - so easy!

The decks are absolutely fabulous! And we have great deck furniture, tables chairs and lounges. We have lighting so you can even spend time on the deck at night!

The house has fabulous windows and light availablility. There are 4 sets of sliding glass door in living/dining area along with another bank of windows. 2 of the bedrooms have sliding glass doors that access the deck and the 3rd bedroom has two windows.

As noted above, we pride ourselves in keeping our house in great working order and making it as comfortable for our guests as we can. We leave our address and email address at the house and ask for feedback and suggestions. Through the years we implemented many suggestions, including adding outside lighting on the deck on the first floor, adding a ceiling fan, adding internet access and many other items!

Our house is on the narrowest street on the island - only 2 blocks wide (approximately 10 houses wide.)

Because it's only two blocks wide our beach is never crowded even during peak summer weeks!

There's great bay access just down the street and we are within walking distance to Sunset Park which has free concerts every Wednesday during the peak season. The park also has a great playground, ball field, tennis court and bay access for boating and crabbing.

LBI has fabulous restaurants to suit every taste.

Perfect Fall Getaway

We had the pleasure of staying here on a beautiful fall weekend. This is the perfect getaway place. Private beach access with tons of outdoor deck space...how can it be better in LBI? The hammock at the top of the dune is perfect for listening to the surf, or in our case, looking at the stars. There are 3 bedrooms so plenty of room if you want to have guests. We loved the living area with big comfy couch for curling up and watching our favorite college football team play at night. We'll definitely be back. If you want a great meal we highly recommend The Gables (fine dining) and Yellowfin (seafood).

Location Location Location

Spent a long weekend in LBI. We've stayed here before and love the location and property.

Its steps from the ocean in a very quiet area of the island. Owners are super nice, very responsive and have thought of just about everything. Almost every amenity you can think of is provided. We especially love lounging in the hammock and star gazing at night.

We like that there are 2 full baths and lots of deck space to enjoy the outdoors. BBQ grill and comfortable deck furniture is a bonus. Did I mention steps from the ocean? At night with the windows open you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Looking forward to renting again next year!

Excellent Beach House Experience

My family and friends really enjoyed our stay at Donna & Paul's beach house.

Donna was out main contact and was very responsive, courteous and helpful.

The property is accurately represented in the pictures. The home is very well furnished, the kitchen had everything we could need. The entire property was very clean. The house is set up to be comfortable for a group to congregate on the deck, in the dining/living area but to also allow you privacy in the bathrooms and bedrooms when needed.

The guys all loved the gas grill, really wish that was available at more homes.
The hammock was a nice feature that a lot of people in my group really enjoyed spending some time on.

You could walk from the large deck right on to a more secluded beach in comparison to the crowds on the southern end of the island.

That said, it is just a short drive to the southern end of LBI where you can visit shops, restaurants, mini-golf, Fantasy Island, etc. Or you could head north to visit Barnegat Lighthouse, the fish market, and other shops and restaurants.

A few of the places we dined at were The Chicken or the Egg (CHEGG), Kubel’s, La Bamba, Panzone’s and Pinky Shrimps, all of which we loved and would try again!

Awesome one week vacation in Harvey Cedars

We spend a wonderful week at Donna's house. The apartment is well maintained and has everything you need for a great stay. We love the deck. It is incredibly spacious and perfect for eating or just relaxing. Our family had a very low key vacation. We cooked at home and didn't miss going out at all. Donna's kitchen has EVERYTHING! We also enjoyed the large outdoor shower. It's very convenient for small kids. The private beach access was terrific. I highly recommend this rental property and hope to be able to return.

Harvey Cedars Tranquility

After spending a week in August at Donna and Paul's condo in Harvey Cedar's, I can honestly say my family and I have never had such a relaxing vacation. The location and comfortable accommodations are perfect. Being right on the water with easy beach access is second to none! This condo offers everything you and your family needs, a great safe location, peaceful surroundings, a beautiful huge deck to just sit back and enjoy, I could go on! This was our first year renting here and I am looking forward to making Donna and Paul's home a summer vacation fixture for years to come for my family! Thank you!

Fantastic 2 week vacation on a beautiful, never crowded beach

My family of 4 adults and 4 children returned again to this well equipped and well furnished beachfront apartment. The private walkway to the beach made the children's frequent trips back and forth very easy. The upstairs owners' apartment guarantees nice quiet neighbors who are easily accessible.

Great experience in LBI

You can't beat the location and privacy of this beach front home! The house was steps from a beautiful beach, with a relaxing area with chairs and a hammock looking out to the beach. It was great having 2 full bathrooms, as well as an outdoor shower that was one of the nicest and cleanest we've ever seen. Donna & Paul were wonderful hosts, and quick to help if we had any needs or questions.

Relaxed Comfort

We have booked a number of beach homes over the years, and this was by far the most delightful of them all. Donna has beautifully furnished the home for live-ability. Six adults and never a mess because the layout is so user friendly. Every room, including the kitchen, had just what was needed.
The location was superb. Walk right out to an expansive beach, or stop on the dune for a rest in the hammock. Relax on the roomy deck and watch the men wrestle with the grill. Delightful.

The Best Place to Stay in Harvey Cedars

This was our second year renting this property. This house is well equipped, clean, comfortable and the location is the best. Both Donna and Paul are extremely gracious hosts. You can not go wrong with renting this house.
