5/5 stars! We recently rented Penn Raven Cottage for our micro-wedding. Our wedding party stayed with us at the house and it was a wonderful weekend. Check in was easy and we felt at ease with the extra cleaning precautions. All bedrooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable. Upon Sally's recommendation, we used Bed & Bath Linen Rentals, and it was extremely convenient and easy! The bathrooms and kitchen are brand new and gorgeous! We also enjoyed using the outdoor showers after getting back from the beach (which was very close). We spent the most time on the beautiful wrap around porch. The large farmhouse tables were perfect for dinner and in addition to the backyard, allowed everyone to spread out. The string lights hanging on the porch were beautiful and made our event feel extra festive! We had an amazing weekend and will be reminiscing for years to come! Thank you for having us - you made our wedding weekend amazing!

I rented this house for my family for a long weekend. The house is beautiful and so large. Plenty of room for 16 people to very comfortably stay. Although all that room is not really needed because the porch is everything. Such an amazing wrap around wide porch with seating and tables for must be around 40 people. We spent most of our time hanging out there. The kitchen is beautiful as well, very updated and fully stocked with pretty much anything you could need to cook. The location is fantastic too. Only a 1 minute walk to the beach, 2 minute walk up to the boulevard, and it's just a beautiful area for taking long strolls. I had a few questions during my stay, and Sally was always immediate to answer me with everything I needed. I look forward to staying here again, and would recommend this house to everybody. Thank you Sally.

This is the best value proposition on LBI. You feel like the house was made for large gatherings, in general, but for yours, in particular. Awesome extra-wide wrap-around porch becomes the venue for most conversations and activities because it is so inviting, comfortable and accommodating. We had six couples for an alternate vacation because our trip to a Greek Island villa got cancelled due to COVID so we were really looking forward to this week at the beach. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the charm of the house and its furnishings. The owner’s care and attention to your enjoyment comes through in every detail from the comfy beds and individual AC in each room to the beautiful gardens and yard with two outdoors showers. Nothing quite says “beach” like a good outdoor shower. After active days at the beach or riding bikes to the lighthouse, we really enjoyed dinner prep in the well-equipped chef kitchen followed by large social dinners on the porch each night sandwiched between sunsets within view over the bay and moonrises on the ocean horizon just a 3 minute walk down the street. The island’s best restaurants, breakfast spots and ice cream purveyors are only a short walk, not to mention the Ship Bottom Brewery now at Bay Village. The owner was great to work with and provided ongoing COVID information as the arrival date approached. We felt assured that the house was appropriately cleaned when we arrived and had a perfect “end-of summer” week. We have rented other very enjoyable houses in Beach Haven for family vacations over the years, but Penn Raven Cottage is now at the top of our list.

Penn Raven Cottage is nothing short of magical. All the charm, elegance and coziness of a Victorian cottage paired with the tight-ship conveniences of a sleek modern building. After having to scale down our wedding, due to Covid, we had a lovely ceremony in the backyard with just our parents and siblings families. We had a lovely dinner on the wrap around porch under the glow of the string lights. It was the best watching my little nieces alongside their grandparents, cooking together in the amazing kitchen and having the space for all of us to play games together at night. The house is big enough to fit all of us comfortably and after the short walk coming back from the beach there are two outdoor showers! We are so thankful for such a memorable, beautiful week in such an amazing house!

This house is amazing! So much room for a large family. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance you would ever want, all utensils and more! The bedrooms are spacious and lovely. Perfect amount of everything in every room. My kids enjoyed the yard, the porch, the street and how close it was to everything we needed. Short walk to the beach and friends.
Sally has an amazing house filled with everything you need....book filled with tips and menus, all bathrooms were fully stocked, cleaning supplies and a suggestion on a great rental company for sheets and towels! It was a perfect house for my family! We are booking it again for next year!

We rented this beautiful house for a long weekend for my son's wedding. It was wonderful. The large porch was perfect. Had a brunch after the wedding and what a great place to sit and visit with all our guests. Couldn't have thought of a better place to stay. The kitchen had everything we needed. Absolutely loved the decor, location and size of this house!!!!!

A lovely Victorian home in the heart of Beach Haven just steps from the beach and walking distance to shopping, restaurants, the all important Do Me a Flavor and Murphy's! The house has been updated with all the modern
conveniences, newly remodeled bathrooms and a main floor suit for those who choose not to do steps. The kitchen has all of the appointments for cooking and serving a large group.
It takes a minute to get to the beach and another minute in the other direction to get to the bay to watch the sunset or use the widows walk up top and you can see all of Beach Haven from there!
Our family of over 14 have been vacationing here for 4 years, we especially love the huge front porch. Sitting out in the morning, afternoon or night is one of our favorite aspects of the house and the owner has provided great seating and tables that fit a large group like ours!
It is a great house for families with young children too.
We love our LBI vacation speciffically Beach Haven it is the best we have a blast here every year!

We have a large family and this house was perfect for our yearly getaway. We kept outgrowing previous houses and this house fit us comfortably and allowed us to have our own spaces. We were close to the beach and some of our favorite places (Pearl Street Market, Murphy's and the Green). We were also able to walk easily into to town for meals and the amusement park. The house included all the basic essentials for both kids and adults. It is a historic house that feels lived in and comfortable. We loved the fantastic front porch with seating for everyone and a backyard area where the kids could play. We look forward to a return stay next year.

Our family has been vacationing on LBI for more than 40 years. We've outgrown our previous rental locations, so this was our first year at Penn Raven Cottage, and there were 17 of us, from age 6 to 83. Our family can't say enough good things about Penn Raven. From the size of the porch (huge), to the number and size of bedrooms and bathrooms, to the amount of interior living space - it's all wonderful. The first floor bedrooms are great for anyone who doesn't like to climb stairs. There was enough space for the family to be together at meals (most of which we ate on that wonderful porch), as well as space to spread out throughout the house singly or in small groups for reading, games, etc. The large yard had plenty of space for folks to play croquet and bocci ball on a luxurious grass lawn. The house is clean and well-maintained, the furnishings are beautiful and the Victorian charm impressed us all. Because it's right in the heart of Beach Haven, you can walk or bike to anything that you need, from groceries to the pharmacy to Bay Village and Fantasy Island.
The owners were incredibly responsive to a small problem (the dishwasher had a leak) and sent out the repairman immediately.
We would recommend Penn Raven to any large family. We'll definitely be back next year and anticipate that we'll be coming back to Penn Raven for years to come.
