About the owner: We surf, kayak and hang out at LBI. We've been to many beaches around the world and our 5th Street beach is still one of the best we've ever seen.

Why the Owner Chose Ship Bottom, NJ, USA:
We bought our home in this location for the beautiful and quiet neighborhood, location to the beach and bay and easy access to get on or off the island.

Second Time Around

This was our second stay at this property and it was just as great as we remembered. The location is terrific - you can walk to the beach at the east end of the street for sunrise and at the end of the day watch the sunset at the west end of the street over the bay. Swimming, surfing, fishing, or just sitting with a good book make for a perfect day. Great shops and restaurants are easily accessible by bike or car (a few are even within walking distance). A trip to Tuckerton Seaport just down the road is a must and Smithville is a fun day trip. If you plan on doing some cooking, the Blue Crab Seafood Market in Surf City has the best, fresh seafood to be found - they even went fishing for blowfish so my husband could once again enjoy a childhood favorite. Oakies a little further down the street has amazing subs, homemade pies, etc. The backyard deck and fenced yard are a bonus - our dog made the most of his vacation, too, just laying around and enjoying the sea air. Karen is a terrific owner - she and her family rearranged their schedule to accommodate our requested dates and the house was in pristine condition upon our arrival. The property is as advertised and we highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great vacation spot, especially those families with children and/or a dog. - Pamela K.
